Meet the candidate

Adam Schoof

I’m Adam Schoof, a multifaceted individual with a background spanning various fields. As a US Army Veteran, Pilot, Business Owner, and Career Law Enforcement Officer in Fort Bend County, I bring a wealth of experience to the table. My family and I are active members of River Point Church and I live in the Travis High School Feeder Pattern.

Dedicated to community involvement, I serve on two Homeowner Association Boards, advocating for the needs of our residents. My educational journey includes attending the prestigious Army & Navy Academy in Carlsbad, California, and completing nearly two years of public high school before graduating ahead of schedule.

During my high school years, I participated in a Career Technical Education (CTE) program, where I underwent rigorous training in firefighting and emergency medical services, including advanced wildland firefighting with the California Department of Forestry. Additionally, I pursued my passion for aviation from a young age, funding flight lessons through entrepreneurial endeavors such as lawn mowing and manual labor. Achieving my Private Pilot’s License at 17, I continued to broaden my aviation skills, eventually progressing halfway through my Instrument rating by high school graduation. To this day, I fly a wide variety of aircraft and successfully obtained the Instrument rating along with many other FAA ratings.

Upon graduating, I enlisted in the US Army, where I served four years as a Military Police Officer, receiving specialized training in tactical operations, disaster relief, and investigations. The majority of my military service was with the esteemed 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York, before my Honorable Discharge. During my time as an MP, I also served the community as a structural firefighter and ambulance EMT.

Transferring my law enforcement credentials to Texas, I have dedicated the past decade to serving as a Law Enforcement Officer within Fort Bend County, currently holding the position of Patrol Officer. Since relocating, I have obtained a Master Peace Officer license and undergone advanced training in Motor Vehicle Crash Investigation, Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement and Active Shooter response.

I am also trained as a Crisis Intervention/Mental Health Officer. Additionally, I volunteered as a firefighter for three years within Fort Bend County, further contributing to community safety and well-being.

ISSUES

GET IT RIGHT

I am dedicated to serving as a vocal advocate for both parents and students, prioritizing transparency and accessibility.

Adam Schoof For Position No. 2 on the Fort Bend Independent School District Board of Trustees

Ultimately, I believe that education should empower our children to transition into adulthood as competent and productive members of society

  • Safety and Security

As a career police officer and former soldier, I am deeply committed to ensuring the safety of our students. I want to work closely with FBISD to make sure we stay ahead of the threats against our students and our staff.

  • Fiscal Transparency & Accountability

As a business owner and investor, I want to work hard for fiscal transparency and accountability. In light of recent bond overages and program deficits, we must make sure the district operates efficiently and we are spending taxpayer dollars wisely.

  • Support Our Teachers

Our teachers and our staff are on the frontlines for Fort Bend ISD. They need to be supported with the tools and the resources necessary to do the important work of educating our children. Classroom support not only means providing technology and instructional materials, but we must also support them by having a strong discipline plan.

  • Supporting Career & Technical Education (CTE) Initiatives

When I graduated high school, I was a certified EMT and had a certificate to work as a firefighter. I want to bring more focus to our CTE program and provide our students with an array of options beyond just college.

  • Increase Our CCMR

I want to make sure all of our students are ready for life beyond high school. Increasing our College, Career and Military Readiness percentages will put our amazing students on a path for success.

  • Foster Safe And Enriching Educational Environment

As a candidate for Position No. 2 on the Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees, my primary aim is to create a safe and enriching educational environment for all students. Drawing from my experience as a parent with a daughter attending elementary school in the district, I understand the importance of ensuring a secure and nurturing atmosphere for learning.
